Takeuchi Mfg. Co. was established by Akio Takeuchi in 1963. Since then, the company has followed a prosperous path as a leading manufacturer of construction machinery. Years before ConExpo, 1970 to be exact, Takeuchi developed the world's first compact excavator. It was a 2-ton class machine equipped with a boom swing mechanism and was capable of 360-degree slewing. This machine prompted much demand and was the birth of a new market, establishing Takeuchi as the unshakeable global standard. As a pioneer in the construction machinery sector, Takeuchi pursues new technology development with enthusiasm.

At the 1987 ConExpo in Las Vegas, Takeuchi introduced the world's first compact track loader, the TL20. It was a 35 HP machine with an operating weight of 5,555 lbs. Since that time the compact track loader market has grown to over 30,000 units per year.

Today, four different models make up the Takeuchi compact track loader product line. They range in operating weight from 6,000 lbs to 11,000 lbs. Takeuchi's current third generation line of track loaders are designed to provide best-in-class performance in the toughest working conditions. The fourth generation will be introduced to the U.S. market in 2008.

Takeuchi track loaders provide superior bucket breakout force, allowing a TL series machine to break through material that others can't. Planetary final drive motors provide unmatched torque amplification for pushing and grading tough material and puts more power behind the bucket. Unitary undercarriages are welded to the machine frame. This is a superior base design and allows more torque and power behind every machine. This design also ensures that rollers, sprockets, and idlers will provide maximum wear life in all applications.

Comfort is also a major focus for Takeuchi design engineers. Takeuchi has always believed that comfortable operators are much more productive operators. Our operator compartments are the largest in the industry and provide unmatched head, shoulder and leg room. Takeuchi engineers are consistently working on product improvements and future concept products

By listening to the requirements and understanding the needs of our customers, Takeuchi has been able to lead the industry in new product development. Takeuchi compact products have transformed the North American construction equipment markets. At present, the company is filling a number of patent applications with the expectations that these developments will lead to the next global standard from Takeuchi.
